STYLEview is the highly integrated, end-user orientated, report writer for STYLEman. Presenting the user with a simplified view of the database structure, this module gives the user an ideal tool to report and query in any format on the mass of information held within the STYLEman product set.

The STYLEman database is a large and complex structure and understanding it can be a daunting task. The STYLEview approach has a knowledgebase that simplifies the underlying structure such that the relationships between the various tables are pre-defined.This means that STYLEview can be used by less experienced staff than would be the case with traditional reporting tools.

  
     
 
Report Writing
  Report writing is made simple by a report writer wizard
  Reports defined via a GUI screen painter
  Previously defined reports may be copied and modified
 
Field Handling
  Data fields selected from pre-prepared English knowledgebases
  Fields can be moved using "drag and drop"
  Field length and format within users control
  Modification of field labels and titles
 

Run-time entry fields may be used within reports as text or in calculations
  Pre-set views of data may be selected for a report (e.g. all orders, open orders, picked orders, etc.)
 
Calculated Fields
  Report and database fields can be used in calculations
  Calculated fields created within a report can be used insubsequent calculations
  Permanent calculation fields can be maintained within the knowledgebase
 
Selective Fields
  Data may be displayed dependent on user defined criteria
  Selection criteria may be applied to calculated fields
 
Text Handling
  User defined text may be added to a report
  Text fields may be concatenated to save space
 
Report Sorting
  Reports can be sorted by any report fields
  Sort fields do not have to appear in reports
  User control of sort sequences - ascending or descending
  Automatic sub-totalling by sort fields if required
 
Report Total & Sub-Totals
  User chooses appearance of totals at every level
  Sub-totals are optional with sort sequences
  Allows control over text and fields printed with totals
  Calculations possible using totals. (e.g. percentage of total)
 

Report layout at every sub-total level within users control
  Customisation of report headings at every level
 
Report Filters
  Filters can be added to remove irrelevant information from a report
  Each filter may be customised using any report field(s) and any calculation or constant
  Filters may be added to allow entry of report run-time parameters
 
Time Based Fields
  Reports can include "this year/last year" and "year-to-date" information
  Run-time entry of current period, to allow up to date or historical analysis
  Variance calculations possible on comparative fields
 
Enquiries & Reports
  Enquiries may be written to give an instant snap-shot of data
  Report archives are stored on-line to allow viewing of report history
 
Dynamic Enquiries & Reports
  Unlike other reporting tools, STYLEview allows you to navigate effortlessly between different reports and enquiries, automatically linking related middleics. For example, the user might select a product code within an enquiry and Walk to any enquiry/report based on that product.
 
Drill up/Drill down
  The user may drill up / drill down through a report. This means that the report can be looked at in summary form (by drilling up to summary levels) or in detail form (by selecting the requires data and drilling down to the detail)
  Reports can be printed by screen, sections or as full reports at any sub-total level required
 
Spreadsheets
  Walkabout provides a number of facilities for integration with the standard deskmiddle environment.
  Reports may be exported into Excel or Word for further processing.
 
Graphics
  Graphical representation of data is simple to achieve with the inbuilt graphics and via exports to Excel and Graph Server.
 
STYLEman Integration
  STYLEview reports and enquiries may be integrated into STYLEman menus
 
Knowledgebase
  Allows access to your data via plain English lookup tables
  Translates complex database structures into usable forms
  Performs pre-determined business logic functions, such as currency conversions and discount calculations
  Channels users through logical paths when writing reports
  Provides pre-set relationships between tables
  Allows quick and simple addition of bespoke fields and views
   
Web Publishing
  Publish any existing report as an HTML report
  Drill up and drill down like any other STYLEview report
  No need to connect to STYLEview to view reports (no licensing issues)
  Subsets of reports for different users, security means that they can only view their own
  HTML code can be accessed in the same manner as any other HTML document, delivering reports to even the most remote user at the click of a button
